Peppers of all shapes and sizes are starting to come in, but the quantities are varied. THIS WEEK's offering is for those who just want to sample an array of green peps including Shishito, Anaheim, Bell and Carmine (sweet Italian). There will be about a quart of peppers per order.

The poblano is a mild chili pepper originating in Puebla, Mexico. Dried, it is called ancho or chile ancho, from the Spanish word ancho. Stuffed fresh and roasted, it is popular in chiles rellenos poblanos. While poblanos tend to have a mild flavor, occasionally and unpredictably they can have significant heat. Left to cure, they will turn red and increase in 'heat.'

This year, we chose to focus on growing the Fordhook and a red variety of chard. Although we're missing the variety of colors found in last year's bunches, this product is far superior in both flavor and texture. We'll see, perhaps next year we'll bring back all the pretty colors...they are nice!
